Unravel Me: A Revisit (Shatter Me #2)

Okay, so I've slowed down reading this series a little bit. Not because I don't enjoy it. But because of availability. I can't get the ebook for book number 3 for a week or two and so, I'm patiently waiting and absorbing other books in the meantime. Not to say I didn't read book 2 already. I inhaled it.

Here are my thoughts:

I couldn't remember why I didn't really care for Castle so much until this book. I get that he has a lot of responsibility, but expecting Juliette (who had previously spent years, YEARS, in a cell and bouncing around from place to place) to just suddenly be a member of society after being shunned and abused for so many years reminded me why. His affection for Kenji redeemed him a little bit, but not enough that I like his character at all.

Adam is a kind of whiny. I get that he was supposedly in love with Juilette even before they had officially met, but really? He barely knew her, she was litterally killing him/causing him physical pain, and he wonders why she wants to step back from their relationship and not be with him. She's trying to save your life, dumba**!

Warner/Aaron will always be my favorite. I liked him book one and watching him open up to Juliette the way he does just reminds me that he isn't all thorns and barbs. He has a soft spot for her especially and I loved watching him open up to her again.

Juliette, despite the appearance of getting it together at the end of book #1, never really has it together. You never see her really making a definitive decision in anything unless it involves the lives of those she cares about and then you see her raw powers take over.

Honestly, Book 2 was probably not my favorite book before and it remains somewhere near the bottom still. Not that it isn't a great book and important to the series. I feel like we just don't see some of the characters reach their full potential just yet. I'm definitely going to be antsy until I get book 3 again...
