Now, you may not know this, but SJM is like one of my favorite authors. I have to say that I have read most of what she has put out and nothing has disappointed me as of yet. This book, while a disappointment to some, was, in my opinion, important to the next steps in the series.

***SPOILERS AHEAD***
I read a few of the reviews that others had done on this book before reading it and found that there were many people who were disappointed with the book and didn't like it. I on the other hand was thrilled to find one last segment in the story line that was Rhys and Feyre. Why? Because I have always wondered about the readjustments characters have to do after a major event like a war. They don't simply just go back to living their lives! They have to get used to not always being in mortal danger. They have to rebuild what was destroyed! They have so much that needs to be worked on after the fact and this book showed just that. It showed the meetings that both of them took. It showed the volunteering they did to help rebuild their city. It showed the struggle that they had trying to get back into what they considered normal. For example, Feyre had always painted her feelings and was suddenly unable to do so because of the guilt she had for doing something she found a luxury.
Another reason I am grateful for this book is because it gives us some backstory into how other characters are adjusting to not being in a war zone. I feel that this is important because when SJM gets into the next books she won't have to worry about going back over that information. We already know that Nesta has a drinking problem. We already know that Cassian is having troubles with the Elysians. We already know that Elain and Lucien are no closer to getting to know each other than they were and that Mor has some secrets that she's been hiding from everyone. While this background information is not totally necessary, I feel that it will help in the next few stories to come.
That was another thing that people complained about too.... that SJM left a lot of information out... well DUH!!! She's planning a few more books. She's already released that information! That's why I wasn't mad when things were left a little undone at the end. She may have tied up any loose ends with Rhy and Feyre, but she left the others for the next books she's planning on writing and I am totally excited for whatever is coming next!
