Ignite Me: A Revisit (Shatter Me #3)

This was supposed to be the final book in the series.

Years ago when I first read the Shatter Me series, I was totally prepared for this to be the last book. I mourned the loss of this beloved world (despite its brokenness) in one of the most intense book hangovers I have ever had (only beat by the Throne of Glass finale).

Upon this second reading, I have to say that I did look at things a little differently knowing that there is now more books following it. I realized how incomplete the plot felt (maybe that's why I was so hungover upon finishing). Some of the characters storylines felt a little lackluster at the end (specifically Adam's, although I hate admitting that). There were even parts of Juliette and Aaron's storyline that felt incomplete and a little rushed at times.

I absolutely love Aaron (Warner) and I have made that no secret. Approaching book number three as if I had never read this book before, though, I began to see a few flaws in the way his relationship with Juliette develops in this book. His obsession with her in the first two books was seriously unhealthy and borderline psycho (and yes, I loved his character even then). In this third book, he is the same way at the beginning, but after a certain event transpires and Juliette starts to seem him as less of a monster, their relationship changes. This is where I feel like the timeline might be a little rushed. Aaron knows pretty much everything about Juliette, but she knows practically nothing about him. Her naivete shines through in this book even with her murdery tendencies toward the end of the book.
