Covid inspired Picture Book Picks!

I know we are all sick of this pandemic, but I had to share that there are some beautiful things that come out of crappy situations. One of these books is most definitely a Covid-19 book, and one is just as relevant today during this pandemic, but is inspired by a true story from a few years ago. Both of these books will make you smile and think back to a time when you were a child. The simplicity of it. Happy Reading!

This picture book, while a seemingly simple story, is beautiful! I loved it because:
  1. Emerson loves writing letters! She loved putting her little bits of herself into them and making them personal for the person she was writing to.
  2. This book is really a love letter to the postal service who helps our letters get where they need to go.
  3. Emerson's eyes are opened not only to the work the postal service does, but also to the work that everyone does. From doctors to grocers. From teachers to bus drivers. This picture book is a big giant thank you letter to all of them.
If you were looking for a sweet picture book that will hit you right in the feels, this is your book

This picture book is adorable and shows us the resilience of children despite the devastation of Covid.
I loved this book because...
  1. This book shows the effects staying at home has had on children. While they miss their friends and extracurricular activities, we also get to see that the minds and creativity of the children in this book flourish.
  2. It shows the friendship that develops between two children who live across the street from each other. They may not be able to get together to play, but from their windows they share drawings, dance moves, magic tricks, and so much more fun.
  3. The bright and colorful illustrations of this book are just happy. Just looking at the cover art makes you smile because it is so bright and lively!
