Imagine Me (Shatter Me #6)

This book came out during the garbage pile we call 2020 and as a result, this was my first read through.

So, I don't think we have ever really seen someone break the way Aaron/Warner breaks in this book. After what happens with Juliette/Ella, he just decides not to do life anymore. The only person he kind of interacts with is Kenji. I love this because it shows despite the fact that Warner keeps saying he hates Kenji, there is actually a little bit of respect between the two of them.

This book also showed a real creepy version of Juliette. And it also showed just how wackadoo Anderson is. Her clone/automaton behavior and slight attraction to Anderson (I just vomited in my mouth a little bit writing that gotta be honest) show how insane the Reestablishment is and the lengths they were willing to go to achieve their end goal.

Admittedly, I really wish we had gotten to see a little more of the other commanders of the Reestablishment. We got to see Juliette's parents and in this final book we got glimpses of some of the others, but I would have liked to get a better sense of how extreme Anderson was. In the glimpses of the others that we got, they all argued with Anderson over his obsession with Juliette and not really being a part of the team. And yes, i did get that there was an end goal that he Reestablishment as a whole was working toward and the Juliette was a part of it and that she was supposed to take her sister's place, yada yada yada. But in dealing with mostly Anderson, we never really get the true sense of what the Reestablishment was setting out to do. You're probably thinking They want to take over the world...DUH! But there are times when I wondered if maybe they were looking to do more through the glimpses that we get from Juliette and Warner.

The ending of this book showed a true finality. When you reach the last pages of this book, you know that this is the end. Everyone finally gets to live their life without fearing the Reestablishment. There is rebuilding and reuniting of everyone. Unlike book #3, this book gives that feeling of DONE.

Honestly, this series is one of my favorites. I will probably revisit it again (and again and again).

Let me know if there is a series you'd like for me to try or if there is one you'd like for me to revisit!
